Summer Social at Red Acre Farm, August 12, 2021

It was a lovely evening for the Cedar City Arts Council Summer Social at the Red Acre Farm. Thanks to the presenters and participants. We enjoyed a variety of visual and musical arts.

Debbie Drake encouraged us to make art for tension relief.

Samples from Debbie Drake's notebook of Zentangles

Debbie Drake demonstrated the art of ‘UnTangle Designs'. She stressed that this helps release tension as you create simple repetitive shapes. This structured drawing technique is based on the popular Zentangle® method. No artistic talent is required.

Tiffany Marchant displayed some of her visual art and talked about her artistic journey

Mini-grant recipient Michael Silva described his current visual art projects.

Mary Anne Andersen reminded us that the mini-grant applications are due Aug. 31

CCAC President Roger Gold announced that there will be both an art and photography contest in conjunction with the Cedar Livestock & Heritage Festival this fall. Watch for details.

Thanks to Red Acre Farm for wonderful refreshments. Sara and Symbria Patterson were wonderful hosts.

Shay Baruffi-Jensen has CCAC information. Watch for her at the Final Friday Art Walks.

Other photos from the Social.  Again, thanks to everyone building our arts community for Cedar City.
