Thanks to everyone who helped us present the four Art Walks this summer. We had tremendous support from the visual artists and musicians. Thanks to our Board of Directors for their work in building our arts community.

Thanks, to Shaylin Baruffi-Jensen She is the glue that keeps the Art Walks viable as well as producing the monthly newsletter and maintaining the membership records.

Let us know what you’ve been reading during the pandemic and what you would suggest for winter reading. Any books on the table are free for you to take and have been donated for today’s Social.

Bruce Hughes had some entries from the Art Contest in conjunction with the Livestock Festival for Kindergarten through 12th grade. The submission deadline is October 16. Easiest to submit to Bruce Hughes at his office just west of North Elementary. We need helpers to get the exhibit up at the Heritage Festival. Please let Bruce Hughes know if you can help.

Todd Peterson
He and his family are very active in the arts community and have been involved in the Arts Council for several years. Dr. Todd Petersen, a professor of English and the director of Southern Utah University’s project-based learning program, recently published his fourth novel, Picnic in the Ruins, available this January.

In addition to previewing the new book, Dr. Peterson talked about the importance of supporting your favorite authors through pre-orders.  This sets up interest in the book for libraries and book stores and can have a very positive impact on the success of new books.  Click here to order Picnic in the Ruins
