Art and Photo Contest in Conjunction with the Cedar Livestock and Heritage Festival

Thanks to everyone who participated in the art and photography exhibit this year.  We especially appreciate the teachers and parents who encouraged their students to participate. Thanks to the Cedar City Arts Council Board members who helped with the exhibit, especially Randy Seely. Thanks to Rheana Gardner for helping with the photography category and marketing. Art is available for collection at the Southern Utah Museum of Art at 13 S. 300 West until Nov. 17. Last Final Friday Art Walk of the season is Sept. 26, 2025

  Join Artists and Musicians for the last Final Friday Art Walk by Sara Penny    You are invited to the Final Friday Art Walk on Sept. 26,  from 5 to 8 p.m., coordinated by the Cedar City Arts Council (CCAC). Musicians are set for eight locations along Center Street from Artisans to the Southern Utah Museum of Art and down 100 West to the Johnson Art Center and Shape Theory Ceramics. This is a  free public event and is designed to be family friendly.       Children are encouraged to stop by the Cedar City Arts Council table for free art supplies and books. Music ranges from country and classical to pop. Art includes painting, jewelry, quilts and more. The Sagebrush Fiber Artisans provide spinning demonstrations.        Artists may set up their table displays at 4:30 p.m. on the lawn at 100 West Center Street.  There is no vendor fee or application process. Arts Council Social on Feb. 24, 2025

  You are invited to the Cedar City Arts Council Social on Monday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m. in the Frehner Hall of the Utah Shakespeare Festival Building near the Fred Adams statue.  This is a free public event to celebrate the Cedar City arts community.  Refreshments will be served. This year's Arts Service Award will be presented to Roland Williams. The popular pianist and organist has served the Master Singers for many years as an accompanist.  He has performed in numerous other community events. He has served on the Cedar City Music Arts Board for many years.  "We appreciate the steadfast service of musicians and artists like Roland who have contributed over many years to building our arts community," said Roger Gold, CCAC President.  "Even though in pain much of the time as he played these last few years, he never missed a beat.
